You may be getting bored with me saying this, but on the way to the castles, we saw castles.
And on the way back, too
The first castle we visited today was Hohenzollern Castle. This time we didn’t get drizzled on, we got dumped on. Luckily, Duane had found his rain gear so he didn’t have to use the yellow plastic bag.
you can’t really see the rain, but take my word for it.
We weren’t permitted to take pictures inside the palace of the castle, so this is all there is of this one. We learned a lot from Kai about the history of Germany and each castle we visited.
On the way out of the castle, Duane and Eileen started reliving their childhood, doing the crazy walk they used to do as kids. Then they walked holding hands. (notice no camera in Duane’s hand, he left it in the castle and it wasn’t there when we went back, so poor boy will have to get a new one……did he do that on purpose?)
We had to give in, and we actually ate at “Mc Donalds”. Here is the proof
Then on to Sigmaringer Castle. Well, if I had designed a storybook castle, this is what it would look like…..
To make this castle even more magical, we learned that they are setting up for a special event tomorrow. They are having a fund raiser to raise money to bring disadvantaged children up to the castle in the summertime. Kai notice that the royal flag was flying over the castle. That was when we learned that this castle was not a reconstructed tourist castle, but the home of a prince and princess. OK, they don’t live here all the time, but they do live here some of the time.
Then we noticed two very shiny, specially equipped cars. Kai pointed out they have cameras in the front and bullet proof glass.
Again no pictures inside, so I cannot show you the picture of the prince and the princess. Right, we saw them. They looked like workers coming to set up for the big day, wearing jeans and sneakers. Nice looking folks. I guess it is good to be prince.
Kai and Kerin and Anya. What a wonderful family. The kids don’t even mind when Dad corrects them while they are driving. Amazing isn’t it.
This picture caught my attention. It is different than any other Mother and Child I have seen.
